SESSION RATES

You choose specific classes to take each week. We encourage our teachers to get to know you. Make-ups are encouraged within the session.

Checks, cash and credit cards accepted. No refunds once series has begun. Prices based on purchasing the whole series.

13 WEEKS SESSIONS

REGISTRATION

At the beginning of a new session you can register by emailing me, or showing up 15 minutes before class.

Once the session has started, you may just "DROP IN" to any class you are qualified to take.

Stillwater students who sign up for a series may drop in to any additional class for their series price (ie signed up for 1x a week, extra drop in price will be $12 per class) 10% student discount (NOT TO BE USED WITH OTHER DISCOUNTS). Missed classes must be made up during this session. Classes may be made up at any time during the session. No refunds once the classes have started as class size is restricted.

LEVEL 1

Introduction to Iyengar Yoga and the fundamentals of posture and breath (students usually stay here for a year).

LEVEL 1-2

A focus on learning the level 2 poses. Minimum 6 months Iyengar yoga.

LEVEL 2

For those ready to begin headstands, arm balances, and sitting forward bends.

LEVEL 2-3

Must be able to do hold inversions and push up into Urdhva Danurasana.

LEVEL 3

Should have a 10 minute headstand and be able to push up into Urdhva Danurasana unsupported.

ALL

Students must have completed a level 1 course. For all other levels.

50 + CLASS

The practice of yoga is accessible for all ages. This class gives special attention to creating space, strengthening balance, joint lubrication to remove stiffness, as well as the deeper penetration of yoga that mature minds can access.

THERAPY CLASS

This class is for those needing special one on one therapeutic work. It is based over 25-years of study in Iyengar Therapeutics in Pune, India. The class is designed to address structural problems like back or neck pain, and scoliosis, as well as organic issues like metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure and heart problems; nervous system disorders and emotional challenges like depression. Please contact Stillwater owner and Senior Iyengar Instructor, Kathleen Pringle about your interest in the class. Following a 15-minute interview where she will gather the necessary information to determine your eligibility for the class, you will fill out a more detailed information form. Based on the information gathered she will customize a therapy sequence for your Wednesday Class. In your session, you will work with an instructor dedicated to your issues. Your session will be closely monitored and adjusted by Kathleen or another trained instructor to assure you are getting the most relief possible while also learning how to build the strength to maintain it.

To attend you will need to contact Kathleen for a 15 minute interview and fill out a detailed information form. We will then create a specific sequence that a studio teacher will help you with.

OPEN PRACTICE

Open to all students for practice. Instructors will be present but not teaching. FREE.

PREGNANCY / POST PARTUM / WOMEN

Pregnant women are welcome in Kathleen's Level 1 classes.

PRANAYAMA

We will begin with restorative poses to quiet the body and mind, then begin learning the fundamentals of breath and prana control. 6 months experience required.

VINYASA

A very vigorous Vinyasa (flowing) Iyengar yoga practice. Prior knowledge of alignment needed.

[top] Things to Know
Since Iyengar yoga focuses on the standing poses in the beginning you will be building strength as well as flexibility. The classes are dynamic and active. The focus will be on the correct alignment of the asanas and on creating space and joy in the poses. Our vinyasa classes are very vigorous and challenging.

Attire: There are changing rooms at the studio. Wear non- restrictive clothes. Bare feet are essential. No perfume. No heavy jewelry.

Food: Come to class with an empty stomach.

Special Physical Needs: Be sure to let your teacher know about any injuries, physical problems or medical conditions so the teacher can modify poses for you.

Be on Time: Teachers begin each class with preparatory practices for what follows. It's unsafe (and disruptive) to come in late. You may be turned away if you arrive after the start of class.

Do not come to class if you have any contagious condition. You are sharing the floor, the props and the air with many other students.

Students are welcome to join at any point in the session. Students are encouraged to stay in level one for a year, so there will always be those with more or less experience than you in any class.
