| Since
Iyengar yoga focuses on the standing poses in the beginning
you will be building strength as well as flexibility.
The classes are dynamic and active. The focus will be
on the correct alignment of the asanas and on creating
space and joy in the poses. Our vinyasa classes are very
vigorous and challenging. |
| Attire:
There are changing rooms at the studio. Wear
non- restrictive clothes. Bare feet are essential. No
perfume. No heavy jewelry. |
Food:
Come to class with an empty stomach. |
| Special
Physical Needs: Be sure to let your teacher know
about any injuries, physical problems or medical conditions
so the teacher can modify poses for you. |
| Be
on Time: Teachers begin each class with preparatory
practices for what follows. It's unsafe (and disruptive)
to come in late. You may be turned away if you arrive
after the start of class. |
| Do
not come to class if you have any contagious condition.
You are sharing the floor, the props and the air with
many other students. |
Students
are welcome to join at any point in the session.
Students are encouraged to stay in level one for a year,
so there will always be those with more or less experience
than you in any class. |
